MISSION STATEMENT OF WESLEY GRACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
 

To proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all God's people by providing a community of faith that is nurturing and transforming and always and in all things to be the Body of Christ, Our Lord.

 

Community Dinners

Free Community Dinners are provided every Wednesday from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. Different churches provide and serve the dinners each week. The 1st and 3rd Wednesday is Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the 2nd Wednesday is Christ UMC, the 4th Wednesday is Wesley Grace UMC and the 5th Wednesday is Prince of Peace Youth Group. Members of our church help setup and cleanup each night. If you would like to help out (especially on the 4th week) let the church office know (phone 757-587-2996 or email church@norwmumc.org).

Clothes Closet

The clothes closet is open every 3rd and 4th Saturdays. Donations of gently used clothing is always welcomed and can be dropped off at the office any day.

Club Sandwich

After School Tutoring is provided every school day for neighborhood children ages 7 thru 14 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. Summer Lunch Program provides nutritious lunch for children ages 3 thru 18 from 12:30pm until 1:00pm. A recreation time is provided from 11:30am until 2:30pm. Also  enrichment programs are provided in reading, art and dance.

Alanon

Meeting space is provided for this group every Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Scouts

The church sponsors and provides meeting space for Boys Scout Troop 180 every Thursday at 7:00pm and Cub Scout Troop 180 every Tuesday at 6:30pm. A Girl Scout Troop also meets at the church every Monday at 6:00pm.

Military Youth Cadet Corps

Wesley provides space every Saturday morning at 9:30am for this para-military organization that teaches character and leadership to youth. Contact Gen. Jeffrey Smith at 757-748-9836 or email sirsmith51@hotmail.com .

Center For Aging

Wesley has become an affiliate of the Center For Aging of the Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. We are a "clearing house" for the many programs and services available to all seniors 60 years or older.
